Has a Par 3 course called Threetops which is considered one of the best par 3 courses. 9 holes, almost all are super elevated tee boxes.

It used to be called Fox Run. The weird part about it is that the subdivision was built in the middle of the golf course and not on the outer edges. So most of the outer edge is undeveloped, but there are houses in the middle. Also they have some pretty cool elevation change holes.
Thornapple Pointe Golf Club
Grand Rapids, MI

Nicknamed “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.” Next to the airport, unused train track runs through the middle of it and the highway can be seen from a number of holes. Also it’s in on the Thornapple River and there is a water skiing slalom course that runs next to a par five. Great track and always in good shape.

Carved out of the Superior National Forest on the shores of Lake Superior it's a miracle of modern engineering that they can have grass at all as that area is geographically a mile thick slab of basalt. It has nice fairways to light rought to forget about it as the trees come right up to the course. It has significant elevation changes, the poplar river winds through it and you get amazing vistas of the lake almost like an ocean side course. One hole has a roughly thirty yard drop from the elevated tee and a carry over a rated rapids. It's a fun course if you are ever in the area.

Nice tees and greens, no fairways, just gravel. Lots of elevation from tee to green. 13 holes, all par 3's. And you should see the practice green. Impossible to describe. Be sure to check it out if you are in Northern Minnesota next summer.

They have a great ‘anchor’ shaped green on par 3. Wonderful scenery on what used to be a dump I heard. Quality holes and design too

It's the oldest club between Chicago and the Pacific ocean. A street runs through the middle of the course. You have to hit over the street on four different holes. On three, it's your approach shot to the green which is blind. On seven, it's your tee shot or second shot on a long par 5. On 13, it's your tee shot, a par four. And on 9, it's your tee shot on a short par 3. Also, after you hole out on number five, you tee off on number seven, then play number six, then go hit your second shot on number seven which may or may not have gone over the fence and over the street. The course is built next to an old railroad track, and everything breaks to the track, west. Even the uphill shots break uphill if they are on the west side of the course.

Its website describes it as “Taking Golf to the Extreme. The front 9 is a little more traditional, some really cool holes. The moment you make the turn, hold on to your hat. 10 starts off with an island fairway, to an island green. No water just canyons and rattlesnakes between. Option to drive green if you can hit it 250 on the fly. 11 is the hardest hole I’ve ever played. Very long par 5 with the green coming to a point. Every shot the fairway gets more and more narrow with death on each side. The rest of the back is just like that. Definitely worth playing if you’re in the area

A 10 hole short course but you don’t play it like a normal course. You play a golf version of horse where you drop a ball, and then call your shot to any of the greens you can see. Lowest score on that hole then calls the next shot.

Has several “bowl” greens and looks and plays like someone just showed up with mowers and grass seed. Probably the most fun I’ve had playing in my 9 months of golf.

Only quirky one around me is 4 mile ranch. Couple legit blind shots with either a flag to raise or bell to ring when done. Their greens are special, in great shape but there's one I shit you not there is a 3 foot hill that's maybe 3inches wide that goes the entire length of the green and another one that's the opposite, like a 3 foot deep trench right in the middle but its probably like 2 feet wide. Oh and a few of the greens are bowled.
Lakota Links

The most mountain course I've played. So much elevation change. 1st hole is a huge downhill dogleg left par 5. If you have the distance you can hit over the old cemetery and road at the top of the hill and have a mid iron in.
Mad Russian Golf Course

This one for sure. My favorite quirks here are the horseshoe par 4 that either plays 400 or 280 depending on your ability to carry 250 yards off the tee and the 350 yard par 4 where the fairway ends 220 yards from the tee in a massive overgrown gully that stretches all the way to the green.
Super fun, goofy course with some great views. Feels like a crazy farmer built it but ran out of room and just squeezed a bunch of holes together on the back 9....or 7 I should say. You play 11 back the clubhouse, then 12-18.

Par 3 with the rock + safety bell to ring after you clear the green.
I noticed you put evergreen on there in Colorado. You didn’t mention the elk. I just played there this fall (during the rut). There was about 40-50 elk on the course and the males were angry as hell. It was super unique even tho the course was pretty bad
