Riverview Golf Course
Orange County, CA

Probably the most “interesting” course in Orange County, CA. Pretty cool imo, basically play on either side and through a river bed. Has some really fun elevated green/tee boxes. Constantly zigzagging and going up and down. Has some standard golf holes thrown in there as well.

When it first popped up on Tiger Woods PGA tour, we thought it was a fantasy course. Discovered it was real obviously and we went and played it several years ago. Course is incredible and fun to play

It's a premium course. Super well maintained, and expensive. Tough to get a time cause they have 20 minute gaps and leave some empty to allow whales to play for free or whatever. That said: The first 3 holes are standard fare. Some odd tree placements here and there, and a quirky hazard or two. But then the first odd hole is after you ascend most of a small mountain to get to the tee boxes. Even the forward tees are about 40 feet above the fair way. The tips are probably close to 200ft above the fairway. It's a short par 4, with bunkers guarding the gap to the fairway. It's a little bonkers. Then it's normal golf again. But then there's a hole with a donut shaped fairway. With an enormous tree in the middle. Then there's a hole with 60 degree hill down the right side on the par 3. It's better to aim at the hill than the green. Then there's a hole with split fairways with trees in the middle. One's harder to get to but has a better angle in. Then there's a hole with split fairways with water all over. The far one is about 260 to carry but leaves a straight up hill shot to the green. It's just quirky as hell. My friend who doesn't like it calls it "Mickey Mouse Golf Bullshit" which is nice.

Has old train cars under the 18th fairway. There’s huge moguls in the fairway because of it.

Is weird in general, but the best strange hole is a par 3 where you cannot see the green from the tee box.
